Baseball Recap: Bosque Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Highland, Bosque was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Dexter Demons with a sharp 12-6 victory. This was a revenge game for the Bobcats: when they faced off against the Demons back in April, they had to take a 16-5 loss.

Drew Hebert made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Bosque is 2-1 when Hebert allows two or fewer earned runs, but 2-18 otherwise. Hebert was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Arnel Zamora was excellent, earning three RBI, one run, and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Bosque's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-19. As for Dexter, they dropped their record down to 5-14 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Bosque has already played their next contest, a 32-15 loss against Ruidoso on the 1st. As for Dexter, they will take on Sandia Prep at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games the Sundevils have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
