Basketball Recap: Brooklyn Brown's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Liberty over River View

Liberty lost against River View back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Liberty Raiders lost 60-38 to the River View Raiders.

Liberty lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brooklyn Brown, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. Ava Yates was another key player, putting up eight points along with 17 rebounds and five steals.

Even though they lost, Liberty smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Chasity Kennedy was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 27 points and 14 boards for River View. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Perkins, who posted five points in addition to 14 rebounds and four steals.

Liberty's record is now 2-5. As for River View, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-5.

Liberty wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 47-32 defeat against Sherman on the 16th. As for River View, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 71-56 loss against Greenbrier West on the 17th.
