Basketball Recap: Thomas Sumter Academy Comes Up Short

Thomas Sumter Academy was the 42-32 winner over Clarendon Hall when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Thomas Sumter Academy Generals fell 42-34 to the Clarendon Hall Saints on Friday. The Generals have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Thomas Sumter Academy lost, don't look at Malayia English. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards. The contest was English's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Annabelle Connell was another key player, putting up four points in addition to nine rebounds and five blocks.

Thomas Sumter Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-5. As for Clarendon Hall, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thomas Sumter Academy will face off against Orangeburg Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Clarendon Hall, they will challenge Calhoun Academy at 6:10 p.m. on Tuesday.
