Baseball Game Preview: Pellston Hornets vs. North Michigan Christian Academy Comets

The Pellston Hornets will square off against the North Michigan Christian Academy Comets at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Pellston has struggled recently with 16 defeats in a row, while North Michigan Christian Academy will arrive with three straight wins.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Pellston's offense. They came up short against Bellaire on Tuesday, falling 15-0.

Meanwhile, North Michigan Christian Academy sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-11 victory over Posen on Monday.

North Michigan Christian Academy's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-3. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Pellston, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.

Everything went Pellston's way against North Michigan Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2019, as Pellston made off with a 20-1 win. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Comets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
