Basketball Game Preview: Rincon/University Rangers vs. Maryvale Panthers

The Rincon/University Rangers will head out to take on the Maryvale Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Rincon/University came up short against Sahuaro and fell 45-34. The Rangers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Leila O'Dowd, who posted 11 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals. Another player making a difference was Laura Quiroz, who had seven points.

Meanwhile, Maryvale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Kofa, falling 41-17.

Maryvale's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Rincon/University, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
