Basketball Game Preview: Canyon View Falcons vs. Richfield Wildcats

Canyon View is 2-8 against Richfield since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Canyon View Falcons will square off against the Richfield Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Canyon View will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Carbon, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Canyon View came out on top against Carbon by a score of 64-51 on Tuesday. The Falcons pushed the score to 55-31 by the end of the third, a deficit the Dinos cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Richfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They walked away with a 49-36 victory over Delta on Tuesday.

Richfield's win came from a few key players Canyon View will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lilly Crane, who posted 13 points and four steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2024. Hayden White was another key player, putting up eight points and eight rebounds.

Canyon View is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.5 points per game. As for Richfield, they pushed their record up to 13-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Everything went Canyon View's way against Richfield in their previous meeting back in January, as Canyon View made off with a 46-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Canyon View since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
