Basketball Game Preview: Flowers Jaguars vs. High Point Eagles

Flowers is 8-2 against High Point since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Flowers Jaguars will be playing in front of their home fans against the High Point Eagles at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Flowers has six straight victories, High Point has 15 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

It was a proper cat-fight when Flowers took on DuVal on Thursday. Flowers put the hurt on DuVal with a sharp 78-58 win. The Jaguars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Tyrell Bowles was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 34 points and 12 rebounds. The game was his 15th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Brooks, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 assists.

Flowers was working as a unit and finished the game with 26 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, High Point was beaten by Bowie 74-31 on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 51st).

High Point's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Flowers, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.
