Basketball Game Preview: Drew Charter vs. Salem Seminoles

Drew Charter is a perfect 3-0 against Salem since November of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Drew Charter will face off against the Salem Seminoles at 4:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Drew Charter came up short against Miller Grove and fell 53-41.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jade Chivers, who posted 17 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Kyla Stafford was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Meanwhile, Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 51-7 loss at the hands of Columbia. While losing is never fun, the Seminoles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 486th, while the Eagles are ranked 147th).

Salem's loss dropped their record down to 3-23. As for Drew Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-11.

Drew Charter beat Salem 56-44 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Drew Charter since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
