Inter-County - Gold recap Oct. 30, 2012
Conner Kagarise of Northern Bedford County ran for the longest rushing play in Inter-County - Gold this season against Williamsburg last week. Kagarise's team beat the Blue Pirates as he sprinted for 21 yards on the play and finished with 76 in all.
Bellwood-Antis extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Glendale, 41-13. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Seth Worthing put up the best numbers through the air as Bellwood-Antis topped the Vikings. He finished with a total of five completions for 109 yards and one touchdown. Worthing's favorite target this week was Ian O'Shea, who caught one pass for 39 yards.
Barkley Rhoat was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 14 carries, he ran for 171 yards as Everett bested Williamsburg. Jacob Jay also contributed to the rushing game with 14 yards on the ground.
Diehl was the best wideout in Inter-County - Gold this week as Jeff Batzel's team defeated Bob Hearn's team. Diehl racked up seven receptions for 72 yards. Zach Pressel helped Northern Bedford County's passing attack out by catching two balls for 25 yards.
The Panthers' Blake Over and Diehl have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Over has thrown for 1705 yards this season, while Diehl, a 6-foot-5 receiver, has 47 catches for 751 yards. Chad Speigle from West Branch leads the league in rushing with 1398 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Bellwood-Antis takes on second place Northern Bedford County. Last week, John Hayes' team beat Glendale, while Northern Bedford County topped the Blue Pirates.
The Panthers took down Williamsburg 42-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Over threw for 106 yards and one touchdown and ran for 13 yards in the win.
