Baseball Game Preview: Hackettstown Tigers vs. Hunterdon Central Red Devils

The Hackettstown Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Hunterdon Central Red Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hackettstown is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

It was a proper cat-fight when Hackettstown duked it out with Kittatinny Regional on Monday. The Tigers blew past the Cougars 10-2. Considering the Tigers have won six games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Hunterdon Central hadn't done well against Bridgewater-Raritan recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Red Devils came out on top in a nail-biter against the Panthers, sneaking past 5-4. Five seems to be a good number for the Red Devils as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Hunterdon Central got a great performance from Jack Edwards as he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched.

At the plate, Danny Contiliano was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Trey Garutti was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Hackettstown's record now sits at 11-4-1. As for Hunterdon Central, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
