Flag Football Recap: Hannah Cook and Natalie Williams Secure Win for Hart

Hart won the last time they faced Canyon and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Hawks put the hurt on the Cowboys with a sharp 32-6 win. Given the Hawks' advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 157th, while the Cowboys are ranked 620th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

A big part of Hart's victory came down to the chemistry between Hannah Cook and her top target Natalie Williams. Cook threw for 238 yards and four touchdowns on only 17 passes while Williams picked up 118 receiving yards and three TDs. Those 118 receiving yards gave Williams a new career-high.

Hart's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB three times. In that department, Melodi Mendez was the leader with two sacks. Hart got some further help from Genesis Bray: she picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.

The win made it two in a row for Hart and bumps their season record up to 17-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 points in those games. As for Canyon, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14.

As of now, neither Hart nor the Cowboys have any future games scheduled.
