Recap: Harding University Rams vs. Olympic Trojans
The Harding University Rams lost against the Olympic Trojans back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Harding University received a tough blow as they fell 51-37 to the Trojans. Harding University has struggled against the Trojans recently, as their contest on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Olympic found their leader in underclassman Chai James, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 17 rebounds. James has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last 17 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Seniyah Johnson, who scored nine points.
Harding University dropped their record down to 2-13 with that defeat, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.3 points per game. As for Olympic, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harding University will challenge the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Olympic will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Pumas at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th.
