Softball Recap: Atholton Wins Going Away Against Blake

It's playoff time, and Atholton had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Blake Bengals 10-4 on Thursday. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by six runs or more this season.

Elli Cathirell was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Those nine strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kamryn Marable, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Reagan Law was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Atholton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Atholton's victory bumped their record up to 5-10-1. As for Blake, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Atholton will square off against Sherwood on Monday. As for Blake, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Kennedy at 2:00 p.m. on the 29th.
