Griffin dropped down to 6-3 on Friday, ending the team's six-game streak of wins. They had to suffer through a 56-21 loss at the hands of the Central Lions. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Lions are ranked 19th).
As for Central, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won seven games by 35 points or more so far this season.
A big part of Central's victory came down to the chemistry between JR Harris and his top target Avery Tanner. Harris threw for 230 yards and five TDs while completing 76.2% of his passes while Tanner picked up 86 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Thanks to that big game, Harris is now up to 28 passing touchdowns on the season.
