Preview: Bald Eagle Area Bald Eagles vs. Richland Rams
The Bald Eagle Area Bald Eagles will play host again and welcome the Richland Rams, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, everything came up roses for Bald Eagle Area at home against Forest Hills as the team secured a 49-13 win.
Bald Eagle Area can attribute much of their success to Kahale Burns, who picked up 163 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Carson Nagle, who threw for 407 yards and five touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes. Gavin Burns was another key contributor, gaining 65 total yards and two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Richland made easy work of Mount Union on Friday and carried off a 35-12 win. Given Richland's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 91st, while Mount Union is ranked 277th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Richland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grayson Mahla, who threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Robertson, who rushed for 78 yards and two touchdowns.
Bald Eagle Area pushed their record up to 11-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.4 points per game. As for Richland, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-1.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Saturday's game as Bald Eagle Area and Richland haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Bald Eagle Area commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.5 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Richland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.9 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Saturday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
