Softball Recap: Mountlake Terrace Hawks vs. Meadowdale Mavericks
Mountlake Terrace extended their losing streak to three on Monday, dropping their season record down to 7-8 in the process. They came up short against the Meadowdale Mavericks, falling 15-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mavericks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 back in March.
Mountlake Terrace saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caroline Mehring, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Hailey Taron also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
As for Meadowdale, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-9 record. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.
On Meadowdale's side, Olivia Feistel spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on five hits and racked up eight Ks.
On the hitting side, Meadowdale let Madison Mitchell and Samantha Martens run wild. Mountlake Terrace has already played their next game, a 9-1 loss against Shorewood on the 30th. As for Meadowdale, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-0 win against Lynnwood on the 30th.
