Basketball Recap: Milwaukee Lutheran Takes a Loss

Milwaukee Lutheran lost against Brown Deer back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Milwaukee Lutheran Red Knights were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 82-81 to the Brown Deer Falcons. While the Red Knights didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Falcons 36-32 in the first quarter.

It was another big night for Ameerah Grant, who went 15 of 20 en route to 57 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals for Brown Deer. The contest was Grant's 27th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Teriana Higgins, who posted 17 points.

Milwaukee Lutheran has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Brown Deer, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Milwaukee Lutheran will venture away from home to challenge Whitnall at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Whitnall is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.8 points per game this season. Brown Deer has already played their next game (against South Milwaukee), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
