Soccer Recap: Ashbrook Victorious

While Ashbrook's win against St. Stephens wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Greenwave beat the Indians by a goal, winning 2-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Ashbrook also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2015.

Miguel Saldarriaga and Roosevert Norveus scored both of Ashbrook's goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Ashbrook's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8-1. As for St. Stephens, they dropped their record down to 0-8-1 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.

Ashbrook and St. Stephens could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Greenwave will square off against South Point at 6:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (454 vs. 57). Meanwhile, St. Stephens (ranked 398th) will meet North Iredell (ranked 100th) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
