Softball Game Preview: Tuscola Warriors vs. Neoga Indians

Tuscola is a perfect 4-0 against Neoga since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Warriors will look to defend their home field against the Indians at 4:30 p.m. Tuscola will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Tuscola's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over Warrensburg-Latham.

Not much got past Kinzie Cleland, who gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks to keep Warrensburg-Latham off the board. Cleland has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ava Boyer was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Bella Wishard was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Neoga fell victim to Altamont and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Altamont. Neoga hasn't had much luck with Altamont recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Hannah Propst spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up ten Ks.

Tuscola pushed their record up to 9-6 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Neoga, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.

Everything went Tuscola's way against Neoga in their previous matchup back in April of 2019, as Tuscola made off with a 14-4 win. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
