Baseball Recap: Dewey Comes Up Short

Dewey was the 11-4 winner over Tulsa NOAH HomeSchool when they last played one another back in March, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldoggers fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 5-4 on Thursday.

Dewey got a good showing from Karson Johnson, who tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Johnson has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Nathan Sloan was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Jay Murguia, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Dewey's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Tulsa NOAH HomeSchool, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dewey will square off against Pawhuska at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Tulsa NOAH HomeSchool, they will challenge Kiefer at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 7.3 runs per game this season.
