Caprock Academy was the 3-0 winner over Plateau Valley when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell just short of the Cowboys by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Eagles' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Caprock Academy actually scored more points across those five sets (103-99), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-22, 16-25, 18-25, 15-9.

Taylor Phillips paced Caprock Academy's offense, picking up ten kills. Phillips got some help from Zoey Polson and her 14 assists. Rachel Bogan controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Caprock Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Plateau Valley, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Caprock Academy has already played their next contest, a 3-2 victory against Soroco on the 30th. As for Plateau Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Grand Valley on the 2nd.
