Basketball Recap: Coral Shores' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Coral Shores can bid farewell to their nine-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They secured a 54-49 W over the Mater Bay Academy Rays. This was a revenge game for the Hurricanes: when they faced off against the Rays back in December of 2024, they had to take a 56-43 loss.

Several Rays players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shandon Bullard, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten steals. Bullard is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Kevin Rodriguez was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Coral Shores' win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11. As for Mater Bay Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-3.

Coral Shores has already played their next match (against Goleman), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mater Bay Academy has already played their next contest, a 79-50 victory against Colonial Christian on the 21st.
