Volleyball Recap: Isabelle Wiegel Leads a Balanced Effort to Beat Monticello

Shullsburg won the last time they faced Monticello and things went their way on Saturday too. The Miners walked away with a 2-0 win over the Ponies. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Miners.

Shullsburg got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Isabelle Wiegel out in front who had 14 digs and three assists. Wiegel is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Shullsburg's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Monticello, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Shullsburg wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Wisconsin Heights on the 27th. Monticello has also already played their next matchup (against Boscobel), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
