Preview: Fairborn Skyhawks vs. Greenville Green Wave
Fairborn has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Greenville Green Wave at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Fairborn was the victim of a tough 62-42 loss at the hands of Tippecanoe. Fairborn has struggled against Tippecanoe recently, as their match on Friday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Greenville, who are still winless after their eighth contest. They took a serious blow against Versailles on Wednesday, falling 56-29. While losing is never fun, Greenville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 828th, while Versailles is ranked 234th).
Chace Drew put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored nine points.
Greenville struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Fairborn's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Greenville, they bumped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
Fairborn came up short against Greenville when the teams last played back in January, falling 63-58. Can Fairborn avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
