Baseball Recap: Cape Fear Colts vs. Midway Raiders
Cape Fear proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by seven) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Midway Raiders 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Colts have posted since February 25th.
Brody Jackson was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Jackson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Underwood, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Chris Serbio also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
