Basketball Recap: Make It Six in a Row for Glen Iris Baptist

Glen Iris Baptist waltzed into their match on Tuesday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 46-38 win over the East Central HomeSchool Patriots. This was a revenge game for the Swordsmen: when they faced off against the Patriots back in November of 2024, they had to take a 50-30 defeat.

Glen Iris Baptist's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rebekah Everett, who posted 11 points in addition to six assists and four steals. Everett is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Eva Jones was another key player, putting up 12 points along with six boards and six steals.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Micah Coalson, who went 7 for 15 on her way to 20 points and six rebounds. That was a full 52.6% of East Central HomeSchool's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Emma Nelson, who had ten points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

Glen Iris Baptist's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points per game. As for East Central HomeSchool, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-3.

Glen Iris Baptist will challenge Marshall Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for East Central HomeSchool, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-38 win against Tuscaloosa Home Educators on the 30th.
