Basketball Recap: Shades Valley Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Shades Valley can now relate to. They lost 46-26 to the Gadsden City Titans on Friday. The game marked the Mounties' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Gadsden City found their leader in sophomore Naomi Wise, who posted 16 points and eight rebounds. Wise has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Karleigh Sheffield was another key player, putting up nine points and six boards.

Shades Valley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season. As for Gadsden City, they now have a winning record of 16-15.

Shades Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Gadsden City will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mountain Brook at 12:00 p.m. on February 17th. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Gadsden City comes in on three and Mountain Brook on eight.
