Soccer Recap: Academy for Academic Excellence Takes a Loss

Academy for Academic Excellence was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the University Prep Jaguars, falling 4-0. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 on January 7th.

Academy for Academic Excellence was without their leading scorer, Isaac Murcia, in Thursday's matchup. With Murcia sidelined, Aleksander Finnegan got his first action of the season.

Academy for Academic Excellence's loss dropped their record down to 4-8-2. As for University Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6-2 record this season.

Academy for Academic Excellence has already played their next contest (against Big Bear), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. University Prep will challenge Lakeview Leadership Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. University Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.7 goals per game this season.
