Soccer Game Preview: Tyler vs. Hallsville

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Tyler take on the Hallsville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Tuesday, Tyler earned a 3-1 victory over Nacogdoches.

Meanwhile, Hallsville had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Dragons a 7-0 shutout. Given the Bobcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Dragons are ranked 571st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hallsville's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those three matches. As for Tyler, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.

Tyler beat Hallsville by a goal in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, winning 1-0. Will Tyler repeat their success, or does Hallsville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
