Baseball Game Preview: Western Wayne Wildcats vs. Riverside Vikings

Western Wayne hasn't had much luck against Riverside recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Riverside took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Western Wayne, who comes in off a win.

If Western Wayne beats Riverside with six runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Wildcats walked away with a 6-2 win over Lakeland on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

The team relied heavily on Ethan Lamberton, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Jake Grodack also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Riverside fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Old Forge on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Devils by a score of 3-2. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Riverside's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Western Wayne, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8.
