Softball Recap: Ellis Takes a Loss

Ellis couldn't beat Monessen on Monday even though they stacked six runs on them in the third inning. Ellis lost 23-7 to Monessen. Ellis has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Maryella Wanless was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season. Another player making a difference was Anna Keelan, who got on base in both of her plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Ellis' loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Monessen, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Looking ahead, Ellis will head out on the road to face off against Leechburg at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Monessen, they will be playing at home against Serra Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
