Preview: Poly Bears vs. Patriot Warriors
The Poly Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Patriot Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Poly is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Poly walked away with it. They enjoyed a cozy 27-12 win over Esperanza on Thursday.
Meanwhile, even though Los Altos scored an imposing 39 points on Friday, Patriot still came out on top. Patriot came out on top in a nail-biter against Los Altos and snuck past 42-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Patriot.
Patriot can attribute much of their success to Isaiah Miramontes, who rushed for 138 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry, and Josiah Felix, who rushed for 246 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Felix was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards.
Poly's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-6. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 29.3 points per game. As for Patriot, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
