Volleyball Recap: Charlestown Finds Home Court Redemption Against Rising Sun

There's no place like home for Charlestown, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Rising Sun Shiners on Saturday, sneaking past 2-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Pirates as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Charlestown had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 26-24, 15-11.

Charlestown can attribute much of their success to Desi Witt, who had seven digs and three aces. That's the most aces Witt has posted over her last ten matchups. Evelyn Howard also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.

Charlestown's victory bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Rising Sun, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-9.

Charlestown didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Austin on the 22nd. As for Rising Sun, they will host South Dearborn at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
