Volleyball Recap: Jefferson Gets the Win

Jefferson's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Preston Knights by a score of 2-0. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cougars also won the last time the pair played back in August of 2024.

Jefferson easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-13.

Liv Mercer paced Jefferson's offense, picking up nine kills. Mercer got some help from Aven Thorn and her ten assists. Sarah Diaz controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

The win got Jefferson back to even at 4-4-1. As for Preston, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Jefferson didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against University on the 10th. As for Preston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against Lewis County on the 10th.
