Football Game Preview: Chestnut Ridge Lions vs. Central Cambria Red Devils

Chestnut Ridge is a perfect 6-0 against Central Cambria since September of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Lions will welcome the Red Devils at 7:00 p.m. Central Cambria took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Chestnut Ridge, who comes in off a win.

Chestnut Ridge is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 35-7 win over Bedford. The victory was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Jayden Imler continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 277 yards and four scores while picking up 9.9 yards per carry. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 112.2 rushing yards per game. Cooper Barefoot also deserves some recognition as he punched in his first rushing touchdown of the season.

Chestnut Ridge's run defense was locked in: Bedford could only muster 2.7 yards per carry. The team can thank Cameron Hillegasss for the heroic effort on defense: he. The dominant display was nothing new: Chestnut Ridge has now limited their opponent to fewer and fewer yards per carry in three consecutive contests.

Chestnut Ridge didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Barefoot and Imler.

Meanwhile, Central Cambria fell victim to Penn Cambria and their airtight defense on Friday. They had to suffer through a 36-0 loss at the hands of the Panthers. The Red Devils have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Central Cambria now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Chestnut Ridge, their win bumped their record up to an identical 2-3.

Chestnut Ridge strolled past Central Cambria in their previous meeting back in September of 2024 by a score of 33-15. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Red Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
