Football Game Preview: Viborg/Hurley Cougars vs. Howard Tigers

The Viborg/Hurley Cougars will head out to face off against the Howard Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Viborg/Hurley comes in on three and Howard on six.

Viborg/Hurley is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Dakota's top teams: Hanson, who was ranked 21st at the time (Viborg/Hurley was ranked 15th). The Cougars were the clear victors by a 28-6 margin over the Beavers on Friday. Considering the Cougars have won five matchups by more than 21 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, after only 12 points in their last contest, Howard made sure to put some points up on the board against Garretson on Friday. The Tigers took down the Blue Dragons 42-27.

Viborg/Hurley's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Howard, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Viborg/Hurley was taken down by Howard 48-14 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
