Baseball Recap: Turkeyfoot Valley Area Takes a Loss

Turkeyfoot Valley Area was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 9-3 to the Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mountaineers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-3 on Monday.

Heath Nicholson was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two triples, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those triples marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Zack Ryan, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Turkeyfoot Valley Area's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.

Looking ahead, Turkeyfoot Valley Area will head out on the road to take on Rockwood at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, they have already played their next contest, a 7-5 loss against Shanksville Stonycreek on the 15th.
