Softball Game Preview: George County Rebels vs. Neshoba Central Rockets

For the second straight game, George County will face off against Neshoba Central. The Rebels will challenge the Rockets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. George County will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

George County heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Wednesday. They fell just short of Neshoba Central by a score of 7-6. The Rebels' loss signaled the end of their 13-game winning streak.

Blakey Slay was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Kyleigh Howell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and one RBI.

Neshoba Central has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-10 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for George County, their defeat dropped their record down to 33-3.
