Basketball Recap: Yosemite Falls Despite Big Games from Lucas Mcgoldrick and Fallon Vaughn

If Yosemite was feeling good fresh off their 52-31 takedown of Parlier last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Yosemite Badgers took a 68-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Riverdale Cowboys on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Badgers of the 61-52 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

Fallon Vaughn and Lucas McGoldrick certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Vaughn dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds, while McGoldrick dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten assists. That was a full 45% of Yosemite's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's posted more than a third of the team's points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Yosemite was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Yosemite has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. As for Riverdale, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-9.

Yosemite will head out to challenge Caruthers at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Riverdale has already played their next matchup (against Fowler), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
