Softball Recap: Wednesday's Victory Is Lampeter-Strasburg's Sixth in Last Seven Outings

Lampeter-Strasburg was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Lebanon on Wednesday. The Pioneers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Cedars a 20-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Pioneers, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Lampeter-Strasburg got a massive performance out of Mackenzie Mack, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Alaina Brenneman, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Lampeter-Strasburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lebanon only posted an OBP of .294.

Lampeter-Strasburg has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Lebanon, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lampeter-Strasburg will head out to take on Exeter Township at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pioneers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Lebanon, they are taking a road trip to face off against Solanco at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
