Baseball Recap: Rusk Comes Up Short

If Rusk was feeling good fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Diboll last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Rusk Eagles fell just short of the Tyler Legacy Raiders by a score of 4-3 on Monday.

Ross Davis was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched.

At the plate, Rusk saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kade Blankenship, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. The dominant performance gave Blankenship a new career-high in RBI. Bently Moore also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Rusk's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Tyler Legacy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-7.

We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. As for Tyler Legacy, they will square off against Royse City at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th.
