Softball Game Preview: Beavercreek Beavers vs. Springboro Panthers

For the second straight game, Beavercreek will face off against Springboro. The Beavers will square off against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Beavercreek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

On Monday, Beavercreek came up short against Springboro and fell 6-1. The Beavers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

For Springboro's part, Katie Jonas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks. Jonas has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Springboro let Bri Schul and Bella Miller run wild. Schul went 2-for-4 with two runs and one triple, while Miller went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Ava Busi was another key player, earning three runs and two stolen bases.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Springboro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive games.

Springboro has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Beavercreek, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-9.
