Basketball Game Preview: Westinghouse Warriors vs. Kenwood Broncos

The Westinghouse Warriors will face off against the Kenwood Broncos at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Westinghouse is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They fell 74-66 to Morgan Park on Wednesday. The Warriors were up 43-29 in the second quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.

Meanwhile, Kenwood came tearing into Wednesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 72-28 victory over the Vikings. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 28 points or more this season.

Westinghouse better keep an eye on London Walker George. She was instrumental in Kenwood's win, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Danielle Brooks was another key player, going 5 of 11 on her way to 14 points.

Kenwood pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.1 points. As for Westinghouse, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Westinghouse was dealt a bruising 71-36 defeat at the hands of Kenwood when the teams last played back in November of 2019. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Westinghouse was down 51-20.
