Basketball Recap: Saranac Lake Takes a Loss

Saranac Lake's game on Monday was all tied up 18-18 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 38-27 to the Lake Placid Bombers. The Red Storm were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bombers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Despite the loss, Saranac Lake still got an impressive performance from Emma Akey, who posted 15 points.

Lake Placid can attribute much of their success to Abbey Light, who earned 24 points. The dominant performance gave Light a new career-high in points.

Saranac Lake's loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Lake Placid, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Saranac Lake will take on AuSable Valley in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Lake Placid, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Seton Catholic Central at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
