Softball Recap: Fletcher Senators vs. Buchholz Bobcats
It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fletcher can now relate to. They fell just short of the Buchholz Bobcats by a score of 7-6 on Monday. Fletcher was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Buchholz apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.
Emily Clapp was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Morgan Brown, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
On Buchholz's side, the team relied heavily on Madison Blackford, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Juliana Abraham, who went 2-for-2 with two RBI.
This is the second loss in a row for Fletcher and nudges their season record down to 6-16. As for Buchholz, their victory bumped their record up to 11-14.
