Volleyball Recap: Northwest Indians vs. Minerva Lions
The Northwest Indians lost 3-0 to the Minerva Lions on Monday.
The final score came out to 25-14, 25-21, 25-18.
Ally Sharrer paced Northwest's offense, picking up nine kills. Sharrer got some help from Elizabeth Kulick and her 14 assists. Finally, Ashlyn Lazarus kept Northwest's defense grounded, leading the team with three blocks.
Among those leading the charge was Jenna Dowell, who had 15 digs and three assists. Hudson Shellenbarger also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.
Northwest has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Minerva, they pushed their record up to 12-9 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
Northwest has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Tuslaw on the 30th. As for Minerva, they will be playing at home against Aquinas at 6:00 p.m. on the 8th.
