Softball Game Preview: LaFayette Bulldogs vs. Reeltown Rebels

LaFayette is 1-9 against Reeltown since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The LaFayette Bulldogs will take on the Reeltown Rebels at 4:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

LaFayette fell victim to Valley and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 24-0 to the Rams. The Bulldogs just can't catch a break and have now endured seven defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Reeltown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Lee-Scott Academy, falling 11-2. That's two games in a row now that the Rebels have lost by exactly nine runs.

Reeltown saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caroline Sutherland, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another was Kira Chappell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Reeltown's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for LaFayette, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

LaFayette took their win against Reeltown when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 18-0. Does LaFayette have another victory up their sleeve, or will Reeltown turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
