Basketball Recap: Oakwood Academy Makes It Nine in a Row at Home

Oakwood Academy waltzed into their match on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They ended the year with a bang, routing the Priceville Bulldogs 95-75. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Oakwood Academy to victory were Jadon Williams and Austin Germono. Williams dropped a double-double on 20 points and 15 boards, while Germono went 10 of 18 on his way to 25 points. With that strong performance, Williams is now averaging an impressive 8.1 boards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamel Myrie, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 14 points.

Oakwood Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Oakwood Academy's victory was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.9 points per game. As for Priceville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakwood Academy will host John Carroll Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on January 6th. As for Priceville, they will square off against Jasper at 7:45 p.m. on Friday.
