Baseball Game Preview: Maranatha Minutemen vs. Whittier Christian Heralds

For the second straight game, Maranatha will face off against Whittier Christian. The Minutemen will head out to square off against the Heralds at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Maranatha will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

If Maranatha beats Whittier Christian with three runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. The Minutemen skirted past the Heralds 3-1.

Moe Aguirre was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that he hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josh Proctor, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Maranatha's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6-1. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Whittier Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season.
