Basketball Game Preview: Santa Fe Indians vs. Texas City Stingarees

The Santa Fe Indians will venture away from home to challenge the Texas City Stingarees at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Santa Fe and six for Texas City.

On Tuesday, Santa Fe took a blow against Friendswood, falling 88-45. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 682nd, while the Mustangs are ranked 44th).

Meanwhile, Texas City played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 58-34 to Ball.

Santa Fe's defeat dropped their record down to 10-19. As for Texas City, their loss dropped their record down to 5-21.

Santa Fe came out on top in a nail-biter against Texas City in their previous matchup on January 7th, sneaking past 47-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Santa Fe since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
